The Business Catalyst

Felix Achibiri is a visionary business leader shaping the future of African enterprise at the intersection of infrastructure, finance, energy, and digital innovation. For over two decades, he has built, led, and transformed businesses across multiple sectors — consistently turning complex challenges into scalable, high-impact solutions.

As Executive Chairman of DFC Holdings, Felix provides strategic leadership to a diversified African group with interests spanning agriculture, ICT, energy, infrastructure, and financial services. Under his stewardship, the group has built enduring companies, forged strategic partnerships, and executed initiatives that continue to influence Africa’s economic trajectory.

His leadership record spans some of the continent’s most strategic industries. As Chairman of Genesis Electricity Limited (GEL Utility), he led one of Africa’s early dedicated power infrastructure models, delivering reliable electricity to the Port Harcourt Refinery and securing General Electric’s first-ever risk-capital investment in Africa — a landmark moment for private infrastructure financing on the continent. He also co-led multi-country clean energy programs supporting over 500MW of deployed investments across nine African countries, with a development pipeline exceeding 5.5GW.

In financial services, Felix led Fortis Microfinance Bank Plc through a period of historic transformation. Under his leadership, the bank secured a national operating license, became the first microfinance institution in West Africa to receive a mobile payment license, expanded its customer base, and advanced financial inclusion at scale. Fortis deployed over ₦55 billion in digital disbursements, reaching more than 265,000 beneficiaries, with a strong focus on empowering women and underserved communities.

A committed fintech innovator, Felix founded Fintech Inclusion Holdings / Tulupay (2018–present), a pan-African digital ecosystem and super-app designed to power the next generation of payments, remittances, trade, investments, and capital raising. Tulupay combines centralized ledger systems with Web3 and distributed ledger technologies, reflecting his vision for a secure, borderless, and inclusive financial infrastructure built for Africa’s realities.

Through DTH Africa, his technology accelerator and venture platform, Felix continues to back and scale African startups with capital, mentorship, and strategic partnerships — spanning telecoms, construction, agritech, energy, and digital finance. His business philosophy is anchored on innovation, institutional partnerships, and sustainable value creation.

Today, Felix Achibiri stands as one of Africa’s most influential business voices — a builder of institutions, a catalyst for innovation, and a leader shaping systems that drive long-term economic progress across the continent.
